The Dark Box WiFi Camera is a small oblong box with an exceptional battery operated standby time of 2 months! Use your imagination to blend the device into the room environment, for example, between books on a shelf or under paperwork etc. The Dark Box is completely portable can be connected to any WiFi network, e.g., the home or office, so you remotely view and record live footage on your smartphone from anywhere in the world. Due to the Dark Box's infra-red night vision, the camera can see in pitch darkness. Through the smartphone app, you can enable motion recording and receive push notifications upon movement, schedule motion recording or manually record and take snapshots 'on the fly'. The Dark Box has a fantastic 2-megapixel HD camera for excellent 1080P video resolution accompanied with audio and a time/date stamp for evidence gathering or general security of your premises.

A Small WiFi 'Dark Box' Camera; with Night Vision Recording and an 8-Week Standby Time
A brand new release, the Dark Box WiFi Night Vision Camera provides you with fantastic home and office surveillance from a little portable oblong box that measures just 120 (L) x 75 (W) x 35 (D). The Dark Box Camera must be connected to your WiFi network and creatively placed between books, under a paperweight or casually placed on a desk or shelf to capture video evidence on your smartphone from anywhere in the world.

8 WEEKS STANDBY WITH NIGHT VISION
Once fully charged, the Dark Box has a fantastic 8-week standby time to monitor activity day and night. You can remotely view and record live video footage in HD resolution, and when in complete darkness, the camera uses invisible night vision to produce excellent quality footage.
Note: 8 weeks of standby will be reduced on factors including live viewing, recording, sending push notifications etc. In our tests, we achieved approx. 30 days of active use with a combination of recording and push notifications before a recharge was required. The camera can far exceed 30 days and up to 8 weeks (depending on usage) before a recharge is required.
MOTION DETECTION RECORDING WITH PUSH NOTIFICATIONS
Imagine when travelling, you need to monitor your premises remotely. Launch the smartphone app to watch the camera LIVE, record footage and/or take picture snapshots manually. Why not let the camera do the hard work? Enable motion-detection recording and push notifications to receive alerts to your smartphone when movement is detected. Was it something to be concerned about? Review the snapshot stored in the app and have confidence that movement recordings can also be safely stored as a backup to an SD card. Recordings are accompanied by audio and a time and date stamp for evidence.

FREE iOS | ANDROID SMARTPHONE APP
The smartphone app is the control hub for the Dark Box Camera and provides easy navigation with a user-friendly interface. You can manually view, record for a few minutes and take picture snapshots for instant playback through the app, or enable motion-activated recording to store longer video files to a Micro SD card. Plus... the app has a built-in calendar for fast navigation to all stored video and snapshot content. Tap the calendar and navigate to a date to access archived videos and snapshots.
HIDDEN SSID
For peace of mind, the Dark Box WiFi Camera does not display its SSID when connected to a WiFi network, thus remaining from discovery by 3rd parties searching for connected WiFi devices.
SD CARD BACKUP
The Dark Box supports Micro SD cards up to 64 GB (maximum) and provides peace of mind that your recordings are safely stored if you accidentally delete the app from your smartphone or delete the camera from the app. Short burst video recordings and picture snapshots taken manually without an SD card can be accessed via the app's calendar for seven days. Movement-detected video recording requires an SD card insertion due to the required storage.
Note: Movement-detected recordings stored on an SD card can not be played back through the app. You must physically retrieve the card and playback files on a computer or other SD Media Player.

HOW IS THE DARK BOX WIFI CAMERA POWERED?
2x 2600 mAh batteries power the unit. When recharging the unit, ensure the device is switched OFF and connected to a mains power. Charging takes approx. 8-10 hours, and an LED indicator will show when the unit is fully charged.
HOW LONG CAN THE DARK BOX OPERATE PER CHARGE?
Fully charged batteries will power the Dark Box for approx. 8 weeks standby time from a single charge. Standby time = actively monitoring but not live viewing, recording or sending push notifications. 8 weeks is an exceptional standby time; however, most people will operate the camera frequently; therefore, the original standby time will be reduced depending on usage. In our tests, we comfortably achieved 30 days of active operation with a combination of live viewing, receiving push notifications of movement and downloading recorded video files to our smartphone before a recharge was required.
MUST THE DARK BOX BE CONNECTED TO A WIFI NETWORK AND USE THE SMARTPHONE APP?
Yes. The Dark Box is a WiFi surveillance camera that requires a connection to your home | office network (or mobile tethering device). The camera is controlled from your smartphone by the FREE app available to download from the Apple | Google Play Store.
WHAT IF THERE ISN'T A WIFI NETWORK AT THE LOCATION?
You can create a WiFi mobile hotspot or tethering using a mobile device (iPhone | iPad etc) with an active data SIM card. Alternatively, purchase a 4G LTE MiFi router with a 4G data SIM card.
WHAT RECORDING MODES DOES THE DARK BOX CAMERA HAVE?
The most popular recording option is motion-activated recording. You can disable the motion recording function from within the smartphone app and manually record 'on the fly' for a few minutes. You can also enable the 'Alarm Schedule' so the camera will only become active for motion recording between a preset start and end time you specify.
WHY WOULD I USE THE ALARM SCHEDULE INSTEAD OF MOTION DETECTION?
The most popular recording mode is Motion Recording. The alarm Schedule allows you to fine-tune the recording hours; for example, if you only wish to record motion between 13:00 - 14:30 pm and not outside these hours.
IS LIVE STREAMING AND RECORDING VIDEO QUALITY ANY GOOD?
Yes. Video resolution is pin-sharp @ 1080P and 15 FPS (frames per second). Live movement may lag slightly behind real-time movement depending on the speed and stability of the WiFi network the camera is connected to.
HOW DO I ACCESS RECORDED FOOTAGE?
Video footage and snapshots captured through manual recording are stored and accessible through the smartphone app for seven days without an SD card fitted. The camera can store motion-activated video recordings by inserting a Micro SD card (not supplied), but these recordings are only accessible by physical access to the SD card. The card's contents can then be played on a computer or other SD Media Player.
