Old and opulent. I have been staying here since I was a child. I love how this hotel has remained essentially unchanged.

LikedHave stayed many times before. Love its distinctive Victorian architecture and “olde-world” charm.
DislikedDidn’t ask, but would have preferred a room closer to lift (arthritis!). I tried to use the upgrade option from a Booking.com email, but it wouldn’t work. We’ve stayed here many times before. In the past reception staff have known this and acknowledged it, with small courtesies … Not so, this time … Don’t “expect” it, but it’s nice when it happens …
