Once your parcel has reached France, if the recipient is not in, we will attempt to deliver it three times. Upon successful delivery, we will acquire a signature to confirm delivery.

Do I need to deal with French customs?
When sending a parcel to France, you do need to deal with French customs. From 1st January 2021, you need to provide a customs invoice with any parcel sent to an EU country. This may sound tricky, but it's actually very simple to do - just complete the 'Customs declaration' section of our booking form and we'll use the information you provide to generate a customs invoice on your behalf (this will print with your label once you've paid for your booking). It’s that easy!
Please note: in some cases taxes and duties may be due on the parcel. These will need to be paid by your recipient before the parcel can be delivered to them.
HM Revenue & Customs has more information on tax and customs considerations for France.
What items can't I send to France?
As with all deliveries outside the UK, please ensure that your parcel contents are allowed into the destination country. France has a few items that are restricted for import which include things such as rubber erasers, pyjamas or nightdresses made from artificial fibres, silicone for plastic surgery, toys and games which contain copper sulphate, Viagra and vitamins.
You can visit the French Customs website and the French post office website, although they are both in French, a web browser such as Chrome should be able to translate this for you.
Some examples of items you can’t post include:
RESTRICTED AND PROHIBITED GOODS
Food |
Illegal and dangerous |
Other |
Perishables |
Drugs |
Counterfeit items |
Meat and fish |
Explosives |
Protected animals and plants |
*Please be aware that we also have our own prohibited items list, including items that we are not able to deliver, in addition to country-specific restrictions.
How to package parcels to France
Although France isn’t very far from the UK, we still advise you take good care when packaging whatever it is you are looking to send. On its journey to France, your parcel will travel through a number of depots with automated sorting machines so be sure to pack your items well and use cushioning material (such as bubble wrap) inside your parcel to help protect the contents from any accidental damage during transit.
We’ll help you transport parcels up to 25kg in weight and up to 80x80x80cm in size, to your destination in France. We always recommend you use a strong and sturdy outer box when sending your package and to make sure that you don’t overfill it, regardless of the dimensions of your parcel.
